One of the 8 beaches in Southend between Shoeburyness and Leigh-on-Sea. We have been to them all as we are from Southend. Thorpe bay is nice enough, but not my favourite beach. It is at the quieter end of Southend and is nice for a...More

The beach is better looked after the nearer you get to Southend, where there is evidence of it being mechanically raked & cleaned, leaving a nice mixture of sand with some fine grit. Other parts of the beach offer some sand, but also a mixture...More

Lovely stoney beach, easy parking, a brilliant Toby carvery there, it's quiet and great if you want to paddleboard or kayak. Not too far from main South-end makes a lovely visit anytime of the year. Also there is a café which do very nice breakfasts.

This is a nice, quiet beach, but within easy walking distance of the "noisier" parts of Southend (Kursaal, pier, fun park, shops, etc). It has sand, beach huts, toilets, car park, and a cafe. As with the rest of Southend, there is virtually no free...More

We noticed locals using beach more than visitors having barbecues bringing along gazebos and having a good time. Generally a clean beach made up of sand and shael.

A very nice quiet shingle beach. Beach front full of beach huts. A nice cafe/shop at the end and clean public toilets in the parking area. Also tap outside to rinse off feet and sandals after the beach.

This beach over looks the Thames Estuary and so is tidal. Therefore it is not so pretty when the tide is out. Just lots of mud. There is a long promenade that you can walk along all the way towards Southend Pier, adventure playground and...More

Thorpe Bay Beach is a lovely beach for a day in the sun and look out to see and swim in the water if you feel like it.

Just a hop skip and a jump for me so come rain or shine, I'll pop to the beach for sunshine or peaceful contemplation.
