Great stop if you like history! This is a Lincoln sight! He stayed in the house when he was a lawyer and making his rounds on his circuit. It is beautifully maintained and the house steps you back to the 1860's . Part of the newer addition to the museum which is located behind the house offers a wide selection... More

I liked the way it was set up. There was even a souvenir shop that allows you to buy different things

Many cities, large and small, are proud and quick to brag about their native sons and daughters. But how many cities the size of Danville, Illinois, with 32,523 residents in 2013, can boast of so many well-known and accomplished celebrities--Gene Hackman, Dick Van Dyke, Donald O'Connor, Bobby Short and Jerry Van Dyke? They play prominent roles in the history of... More

Historic land mark. Many figures have connections with the once home of a local Doctor. Very cool to be here. There is another newer building you must tour while there.

I grew up in Danville, but have liked the times I have gone to the museum. There were so many things I did not know about the place I lived my childhood. There are two stories of well organized displays of the history of Danville over the years. There is also a small gift shop with a variety of items... More

Can't say enough about the kindness and helpfulness of these folks. They were under renovation but opened the genealogy area for us to check on some information. They also showed us some of the new exhibits that were being prepared. Nice small town museum.

As a Abe Lincoln buff, I always try to see any location that is related as I drive thru an area. This is certainly one of the finest. I was surprised to see that they have a brand new building as well as older facilities.
