Pokhran Fort, a majestic sandstone fort built in the 14th century by a Rajput king, stands near Jaisalmer. While not as massive as other forts in the region, Pokhran boasts a rich history.

Step inside the fort walls and discover exquisite palaces adorned with intricate carvings. A small Durga temple offers a place for quiet reflection, and a museum showcases the fascinating past of the area. Though less famous than some of its counterparts, Pokhran's charm lies in its unique blend of grandeur and local heritage.

Adding to its allure, some parts of the fort have even been converted into a heritage hotel. This provides a chance to experience the life of royalty and embark on a truly unique desert adventure.

Our family had a fantastic time on the driving tour, and a huge thanks goes to our driver, Sanjeev Kashyap HR55AQ9726. His cheerful personality and excellent driving skills made the journey from Delhi to Pokhran delightful.

We stayed at the fort on the night of 5th October 2019 and would like to go again, not just for the beauty of the magnificent fortress, but for its unmatched hospitality. The owner personally welcomed us with the warmth not easily found in the country. Our family was divided between the two floors so he went out of the way to offer the large opulent Maharaja suit to accommodate us on the same floor without any extra charge. Since we were already settled I politely declined his gracious offer.
If you are looking for good ambience, great food and that personal touch, this is the place for you.
