Perfect place to skate right along Michigan Ave with a decent view of the skyline. If you check the web site, you can see times for FREE lessons an hour before the rink officially opens every Fri-Sat-Sun. I have had 4 different instructors, and all 4 were amazing. You can be a new skater or advanced, they will teach everyone.... More

It was Jan 1st around noon and we arrived at the end of the resurfacing period so we didn't have to wait the 25 minutes it usually takes. There was people but not too crazy, there timing was perfect because there wasn't a waiting line to get in when they finished with the resurfacing so I definitely recommend this time... More

The place to skate in Chicago for years has been replaced by the new Maggie Daley Skating Ribbon on the East side of the park. I had never skated before and I was not aware of the new Skating Ribbon but was happy to see that the McCormick Tribune Ice Ring was not that busy so it was great for... More

It's a wonderful atmosphere to skate here on a winter day, with music and at night twinkling lights. But bring your own skates! We saw people standing in line for rentals by a sign that read "Your wait from here is approximately 60 minutes" Ouch!

This is the best rink in Chicago. Yes it's crowded and yes it's better if you have your own skates then you can get straight on without waiting in the queues which are long. Go to a second hand shop (there is one on Armitage and pick up some skates for about $40 if you intend to go a few... More

After waiting in line (Why not be able to make a reservation or could there at least be a mat around the rink to keep your feet off of the concrete and out of the cold water?) for 2 hours for ice skates, we skated on this fun public rink. Fun, because of the location, but not the upkeep. It... More

Decided to ice skate here after spending 2 hours in line for the Maggie Daley Ice Ribbon the night before (and never made it to the front of the line). Ice skate rentals were easy and affordable. Skating was a blast ... not too crowded at 10:30am the Sunday before Christmas. Whether you're an accomplished skater, or first-timer ... this... More

The ice rink just in front of millenium park is an institution in Chicago. Come here in the winter to see christmas decorations and give your best on the rink. Sometimes you see really professional skaters doing amazing jumps.
