I have been on the tour before and really enjoyed it. This time not so much. It was very cold and breezy. We saw the plastic Windows and thought we would be protected. Everyone on the boat was so cold they quit watching the tour. Everyone huddled on the center of the boat waiting for the tour to end. No... More

Booked a tour Sunday 730pm, got confirming email demanding I call to set up hotel pickup. The demand was for 24 hours ahead, impossible. Also impossible because NO PHONE NUMBER!!!! I found a number elsewhere online, left message, no response. Monday AM, called to cancel. I would NEVER EVER patronize this company again. The work they do to land a... More

My mother and I took the North and South tours last weekend (Nov 12). First thing we didn't care for is walking a block and a half to the bus stop. My mother is on oxygen and if we were told the stop was that far away, we could have slowly made our way there verses speed walking thru the... More

From dirty windows, malfunctioning public address systems and incoherent driver/guides to endless delays and missing photo stops, today's nearly $50 4 hour tour of Chicago's north and south sides was a frustrating, disorganized mess. I expected much better from Gray Line. Avoid this horrid experience like the plague!

We booked a 4 hour tour, which is spilt in 2 - 2 hours sessions of North and South. You're basically in a bus for 4 hours. No real stops except for one 20 minute stop in the end for photos. Then you go back to the bus pick up and get on another bus. The guide was pretty much... More

We booked and paid for the 4 hour City/Lake tour, to consist of a 2 hour bus tour around Chicago, then transfer to a 2 hour cruise on Lake Michigan. We took the bus portion which was one of the worst and most boring tours I have ever taken. After the bus portion ended the Gray Line agent came on... More

We took the tours of both North and South Chicago on the Gray Line tour. Our bus driver was knowledgeable and pointed out sights that we zoomed by. It was hard to see much while we were rolling past. We did learn a lot about Chicago history and got a good idea of the lay of the city. It was... More

We purchased the City Pass in advance to streamline our Chicago experience. We purchased the pass that had five events on the pass and most of it went pretty seem less until we went to get on the Gray Line tours. Unlike the other attractions you have to go the Palmer House ( Which is spectacular) to book your tours,... More

The tour was long but lots of information provided. The driver, tour guide Anton was very nice and informative. The South side tour had more to see than the North side. We found the South side more interesting.

Tour(s) conducted via bus.(not as pictured above). Morning tour and afternoon tour cover different sections of the city. We took both for the full experience and enjoyed it. Knowledgeable driver/tour guide able to describe the sights well.

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
