I have been a fan and subscriber to the Joffrey Ballet for the last couple years! Each creation is much more spectacular than the last. I especially love the Chicago version of the Nutcracker that gives local historical twist to the classic Ballet!

We visited Chicago just before Christmas and wanted to take in a show. My wife is a ballet fan and wanted to see the Joffrey Ballet, but they were doing the Nutcracker as most ballet companies do at Christmas, to the point where it is...More

PBS aired a documentary about the Joffrey's commissioning of a re-imagining of the Nutcracker set among the immigrants who actually built the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. We were hooked on seeing it during this holiday season. As it turned out, our daughter bought first balcony,...More

New and mesmerizing performance of the Nutcracker that all Chicagoans should enjoy. I loved the World's Fair theme. Instead of a rich child in Czarist Russia receiving a nutcracker on Xmas Eve and dreaming of more, a poor boy from the south side steals one,...More

After years of always wanting to see the nutcracker we finally decided to go with family this year on Christmas Eve. The show was spectacular and I couldn’t take my eyes off of the performers. The show was well done and seemed to go fairly...More

This was an experience of a lifetime seeing the Nutcracker by the Joffrey Ballet. The performing artists were outstanding, the set design was fantastic and the costuming was spectacular. The music was performed wonderfully with perfect acoustical production. If all of this wasn't enough, the...More

I attended with a group; I didn't realize until we were in Chicago that it was going to be a modernized version. We had seats on the 2nd floor, which were fine. The Auditorium Theater is a beautiful building with old-theater charm. The Joffrey Ballet...More

First- never sit in the second row balcony at the Auditorium Theatre! Obstructed view for seats more expensive than the floor! We constantly needed to move our heads to see around the heads in front of us. I was so upset! The second half we...More

The Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker was a complete disappointment! Mediocre performance, primitive costumes, PowerPoint like backdrops. The most disappointing was a new concept. The Nutcracker, a beautiful fairytale many-many generations of children of the world grew up with, from the beginning was crudely converted to the...More

It is wonderful to see Joffrey Ballet doing a superb presentation of the most classical of classical ballets! Victoria Jaiani was the perfect Giselle, and the chemistry with her husband Temur, who played Albrecht was amazing. The rest of the cast deserve kudos as well....More
