Wicker Park is the former meca of the Chicago art community and location of the bi-annual "Around the Coyote" art festival.  The area has experienced massive economic growth over the past few years and is now home to many boutiques, thrift stores, bars and restaurants and known for its “hipster” vibe.

We stayed in this area while visiting Chicago. I was nice, easy to reach by subway and nice to walk through. Don't miss the Walgreens store by Damen station with the vault inside and the new bike/ walking trail built on the old train rails.

Spent some time wandering around in and out of interesting shops. Many vintage, gently used and recycled products. Great local pubs/restaurants interspersed.

Lovely neighbourhood - amazing street art, lots of character and great food. Lots of cute gift and clothing stores too, and easily accessible via the L. One of my favourite areas of the city!
