If you like history, particularly Chicago history, then you can't go wrong with a Chicago Detours tour. This is my second tour with Chicago Detours and they far exceeded my expectations. The 1893 tour was interesting, revelatory, and just a great time. If you want to learn some Chicago history (connected with the 1893 world’s fair), have fun, drink some... More

Loved our walking tour about the 1893 World's Fair. Elizabeth was very knowledgable and enthusiastic. thought it might be awkward with only me and my husband (the other group didn't show), but it was nice. We got a very personal tour and learned so much about our own town! I highly recommend this tour company and plan to do more!

Went on Loop Architecture tour with Adult stepson. Stayed inside most of time was chilly. Walk was not excessive. Alex was a very informative tour guide. We booked only the night before via the website. Very interesting to see the public art. Informative bits of history throughout. Recommended.

Hello and thanks so much for joining us on the tour! All of our walking tours are designed to be accessible all year round in any whether. Our guides and staff do our best to engage with you about new ideas on how architecture reflects history and culture, and how architecture effects us psychologically. Thanks for the recommendation :) More

I was on the Loop Interior Architecture tour with Chicago Detours this past weekend, and it was a very fun, interactive, and educational tour! The roadmap they put together was thoughtful from starting at a building surrounded by architecture history, to ending at the beautiful Chicago cultural center across from the Millenium Park. And in between, they took us to... More

Great walking tour. Really gives a different perspective of architecture from the inside out, moving through indoor lobbies, street/sidewalk spaces and Pedway. It is ok for any kind of weather. Our tour guide, Alex, was so interesting that in the church in the skyscraper another tour stopped to listen to him. Encompasses a great deal of Chicago history and we... More

The tour was a lot of fun but the details are what made it for me. From the very beginning of the tour we were encouraged to really look at buildings to find details that told their stories. From all of the amazing info to the spot on coordination of food and drink I had a blast. Definitely check it... More

We went on the World Fair Bar Tour. The tour goes to 3 bars. Drink is only included in the middle bar (Artist Cafe). You can buy drinks at the first or second bar. For food, we got a spicy meatball at the first meeting point and at the second we got a couple small pieces of flatbread. The tour... More

Having never been on any type of tour in Chicago before, we weren't sure what to expect. Wow! We were we blown away by all of the fascinating things we discovered while on our Interior Loop tour yesterday. Elizabeth was a FANTASTIC guide! Chicago architecture and history rolled up into a fun/informative walk. Loved it! Can't wait to try some... More

I had one evening in Chicago following a business meeting. Traveling alone, I wanted a quick way to see the city in the evening. The historic bar tour was AWESOME!! Our tour guide Elizabeth was phenomenal. I even ended up grabbing a drink with some Canadians in my group after. Totally made my trip!

Great 2 hour tour. Not too much walking and slow pace so good for older folks. Guide Paul was entertaining and informative. We really enjoyed our sights today.
