Beautiful orchids!

My mom is a master gardener so we really enjoyed taking her here to see all the beautiful flowers and plants in the middle of winter.

We loved walking around the conservatory especially since it was still cold outside! We definitely came home with ideas about growing our own vanilla!

My friend and I were looking for affordable things to do in the Lincoln Park area and visited the conservatory. We spent over an hour and a half walking through each room. The docents were very helpful and offered fun tidbits of information about the plants as you walked about. My friend loved the orchid room. My favorite was the... More

Spent an hour looking at all of the plants, and a special display of flowers for Valentines Day. Visited with one of the volunteers, who pointed out plants and fruits that we had missed...

Great place to stop by to get in from the rain/cold/heat or just in general. It's a quiet oasis compared to the hustle and bustle outside. Hint: They also have real bathrooms in the front lobby so it can be quite handy.

Observed people replacing "Tired" looking plants and removing dead petals. With that said it was worth the trip from the burbs. It offered variety from the Chicago Botanical Garden. Admission is free but close by parking... More

A free feast of flowers and plants. And it's right by the Zoo - also free. What more could you want?

To get some warmth in Chicago winters - this is a must-do. It's great in summer, too, but it has a special appeal to Chicagoans in the winter. It is so much larger than it seems, too. Love visiting here.
