I have a vague recollection of learning about Jane Addams and Hull House in middle and high school Social Studies but the Hull House Museum fills in all of the neglected and important details- her socialist leanings, her focus on fighting poverty via systemic change...More

I love Jane Addams, and as a social worker I may be biased. I absolutely love this museum. Great place to take a group. Excellent source of the history of Chicago and the United States.

Incredibly my Lonely Planet guide has not a single mention of Jane Addams or this museum. I only discovered it through an internet search after seeing murals about her at the Hyde Park Metra station. In keeping with the ideals of the founders, there's no...More

We enjoyed our visit to Hull House. I knew only a little of the story, and liked the facility and history a good deal. The recommended donation for entry is $5. The dining hall is adjacent and included, but doesn't currently offer much.

I discovered this museum at a conference in London many years ago; I am a museum professional and would not otherwise have heard of this place. After 8 years I finally visited and all I can say is: Go: it is so easy to get...More

Jane Addams was a childhood hero of mine. I remember reading about her and her work, especially with children. The week before my visit to Chicago, PBS had a special about WWI and Jane Addams was featured as an advocate for staying out of the...More
