The zoo is about an hour outside of Chicago. You pay for entry, and everything in the zoo, unlike its smaller cousin inside Chicago where entry is free. Large area and lots of walking... but this is probably good for the animals. they have lots...More

I have been coming to Brookfield Zoo for years. This year they have new attractions but we love the animal petting area. My kids enjoyed brushing the goats. The coolest part is the parakeet house where you can feed them for $2 a stick. This...More

I was here by mistake, but the visit was really nice. All animals have great grounds. The diversity of animals and regions covered is so big, you really need a hole day at the Zoo, to be able to get a good visit.

Yes you can. There are picnic tables around the zoo you can use. Also there are reasonably priced restaurants.

Yes you can bring food & there are plenty of places to eat it. You can bring a blanket with you and have a nice picnic but there is also plenty of benches near the food areas.
