We were visiting Glacier, the drive through here was beautiful. The roads were well maintained. Very scenic drive. We drove through during the week so traffic was not an issue.

Good for camping, except we couldn't have a fire because of fire advisories. That was no problem since we could cook in the RV. We were able to find an RV assessable site without problem.

The Sawtooth Mountain range has more than 40 peaks over 10,000', with 300 lakes and 250 miles of trails. It's magnificent and because few people know about it, the trails are empty; you can go the whole day without seeing anyone else. Because it's all federal land, there aren't many places to stay, but you should get to see it... More

What a beautiful place! The day we went through, there was a huge fire (Pioneer) outside Stanley. Even with the smoke and haze, this was a beautiful tapestry created in God's Loom.

I work on the Sawtooth so I get to see a lot and go to many places. This is a great area to camp, hike, bike, ski or just to get away for a day or longers.

Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful. The weather was warm in the daytime around mid 90s and it would cool down in the evenings to about low 40s. We went white water rafting close to town. The white water rafting was fun for the family but would probably be boring for thrill seekers. There were a lot of deer and elk to see... More

I would like to keep Sawtooth National Forest to myself because I loved there being no crowds. After spending time in Yellowstone, it was refreshing to drive and see beautiful scenery with very few people around. Great hiking and extremely dog-friendly.

This really is a spectacular place. If you are coming from Sun Valley, make sure to stop at Galena Summit at the view overlook and it allows you to see the entire Sawtooth Range which is about 20 miles long. Spectacular lakes to see and fish or swim in. Alturas, Petit, Redfish and Stanley are all car accessible. If you... More

I may be a bit biased now, since I work and live in the forest and surrounding areas, however when I first stumbled upon this area 4 years ago, I was blown away. I have grown up in Ohio, have traveled many places. Sawtooth National Forest/National Recreation Area, is a special place that not many people know about. It is... More

We had a couple of hours to spend, and had already explored most things in Twins Falls so we drove down to this National forest--about 40 mins from Downtown Twin Falls, with a stop to get a hiking map at the Sawtooth National Forest Headquarters on Rt 30. Signage for the Third Fork Trailhead was missing(?), but we turned around... More
