Full Scale Replica of Fort Hall based upon archaeology and documents. Exhibits on both floors of log structures. Corner Lookouts are not open to public. See also the excellent History Museum next door. The pint-sized town between the two did not attract our attention ... mostly for grade-school field trips.

As a teacher, I took my second grade classes there every year. There is a film about the history. There are various buildings that are made to be a replica of the original Fort Hall. If you like frontier history, this will be worth while and interesting.

We drove from island park Idaho about 2 hours north to see the fort hall replica however we were disappointed as the fort was already closed for the season and the lady said the city controls that. I understand if it was snowing or freezing but it was a beautiful warm day I think the city should leave weather the... More

Great for toddlers. Even has a nice picnic area. Staff inside Fort was very informative and helpful. Great place for pictures too. Remember $4 admission helps community. It helps keep different things to learn and see. Absolutely a must. Very clean facility. The old town area is nice, i think a cool savenger activity would be a learning lesson and... More

It was OK, nothing special. I have been to a few other forts and some were better. There was some history and exhibits to view in here but not a lot. Was in and out in about 30 minutes. You pay $4 to enter the Bannock County Museum which is next door. I think $1 of the entry fee goes... More

It's kind of neat to see all of the artifacts they found that pertain to the Oregon Trail. This place doesn't seem to have a big budget. The displays reminded me of a High School project display case. However - it was very informative and totally worth the small price. Side note: as a bonus, the $4 also gets you... More

Fort Hall started out as a trading post supporting the European and then Americans as they explored and then moved west. As a "fort" its purpose was to protect the goods and property from the Indians. There is a small gift shop on the left just as you enter the fort. The exhibits show the various aspects of frontier life... More

We very much enjoyed visiting this interesting well documented museum. With the help of a tour guide we were able to get a feel for how the people who lived at the fort or traveled through lived their day to day lives. It is a replica and we were allowed to touch the walls and walk on the rickety feeling... More

The fort was recreated with all authentic items. Very interesting to walk around the fort, the small village, and the museum. You can spend an hour walking around all three.

Good attention to detail re architecture and exhibits. Exhibits explained the importance of the fort and its history very well. Good exhibits on natural history & Native American history in vicinity.
