I'm from a state known for its lakes but i have to admit, I'd never before seen the intensity of blue water that fills Bear Lake. The surrounding mountains and hills add to its intensity and the viewer's sense of wonder. Beautiful isn't an apt description...breathtaking is closer to the feeling upon seeing Bear Lake for the first time.

We stopped by to visit the lake to see if the kids would like and boy did they! Us adults liked it, too. We paid the measly sum of $5 and the kids swam and played and hunted seashells. The weather was warm and the shallow parts of the lake was warm. The lake is shallow very far out so... More

Loved the beach. Great sand. Shallow for the kids. Get there early on the summer weekends. Car might get stuck if you go late August

We visited here on our travels from Grand Teton to Salt Lake City, so once again we were limited to the amount of time we could spend here. If we had realised how scenically beautiful it is , we would have allowed more time. We parked close to the entrance station which afforde great views of the lake on one... More

The turquoise water is just as described, and the lake is very large and beautiful to see. Maybe we didn't find the best spot, but we were less than pleased with the beach. Usually beaches have sand. We were on the northern end not too far from the boat ramp. There was most natural debris by the water, dried grass... More

The color of the water under the sun makes you feel like you are in the tropics. If I am traveling up to Wyoming I make it a point to pass through this beautiful spot.

Bear Lake....... is a calm crystal clear lake on a Large scale. Great for fishing, water sports and lazing on the beach, (down side to the site is dry toilets, not good) The Lake is surrounded by beautiful mountains and has ramps into the water to drop off you water craft.

We traveled to Bear Lake today and it was awesome. The lake appears has gone down a bit because you could see where the lake once was found at. The lake had the same Caribbean turquoise blue water that is found all over the Caribbean. As well, the water was a lot cooler than the Caribbean water but that is... More

The turquoise color hits you long before you realize that is is quite the majestic lake in the midst of some beautiful mountains near the Oregon Trail. Such clear water too!

The white, sandy beach was nice. The kids loved playing in the sand and in the low water. You have to walk out quite a ways to have the water get deep. The boats kept their distance - mostly. We happened to be there on a weekend and the people were elbow to elbow. Still, it was fun. We brought... More
