Perhaps the most beautiful wilderness area in the lower 48.

This has everything an outdoors person could possibly wish--or dream--for. And route 75 is excellent.,

The Sawtooth Wilderness Area is one of the most breathe-taking mountain ranges in North America! Recreation opportunities abound! If you love hiking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, or photography the Sawtooths have it all!

I have no words to describe the Stanley Basin- in EVERY season of the year. I have water skied and hiked and camped and snowshoed and ENJOYED the lakes and trails for over 60 years. When the lakes freeze over and you snowshoe in- breathtaking!!

So much to do, so little time. All four seasons. Hike, bike, kyak, snowshoe, snow machine, EXPLORE. JUST GET OUT AND DO IT! The experiencing of the outdoors will renew you batteries and may make it so you may never want to leave. If the review was helpful, tap the Thumbs Up icon below.

Awesome wide open spaces not far from town. We visited Frenchman's Bend Hot Springs...it was amazing. Can't wait to explore more of the Sawtooth,

I have hiked and ran over 2200 miles of trails in the Sawtooths over the past 30 years (that means I have done many trails more than a few times, and untold miles of off-trail adventures). I am an Idaho native, and I do travel frequently, but I keep going back here all the time. They are 'My" mountains. I... More

My wife and I picked Idaho, more specifically the Sawtooth National Forest, as our Labor Day weekend destination and I’m glad we did. The area is beautiful and well maintained and there are a number of trails…we selected one that took us to the Bench lakes near Redfish lake…it was a nice steady upward climb to several vista views of... We took a drive through the Wilderness Area on our way to Redfish Lake. Such breathtaking landscapes to behold ! Like nothing we've ever seen and can't wait to go back again someday.
