Heading from Twin Falls, you'll first come into a really interesting & beautiful canyon. So different from the flat farm fields before it. Then there is the Balanced Rock State Park, which we drove into thinking the "rock" was there. The park was very pretty with a small stream running through and big cliff walls. Would be a wonderful place... More

We made a quick stop by Balanced Rock on a day trip through the Hagerman valley to Shoshone Falls. It was kind of out in the middle of no where but worth the drive out. It is so cool to come around the corner and see it in the skyline! Some of us hiked up to the base and others... More

Everyone is in awe of this rock formation. It's a great place to take a picnic at the park. Very easy to get to!

The Rock is about half and hour outside of Twin Falls. If you aren't paying attention you could easily drive by the park and the rock. The Rock isn't as awesome as I expected. The canyon that you'll drive through to get to the Rock is pretty cool though.

We were heading down the lovely scenic byway of road 30 towards Twin Falls and decided to take a little detour to see Balanced Rock. It took us about 20-30 min from road 30 and it was worth it. The rock looks pretty cool and it was fun to hike up and play on the rocks. It's pretty steep getting... More

One of the places I like to take visitors. The rock itself is quite the natural wonder and the trip there really tells the story of the Magic Valley. Perhaps the biggest surprise, though, is the beautiful little creek side park. This would be a wonderful day trip from Buhl or Twin Falls. Pack a lunch and enjoy the solitude... More

This was an interesting drive and experience. The surrounding land is fairly flat and farmed and then suddenly you are in a canyon with totally different topography. The Balanced Rock Park is a beautiful green oasis with rock walls that seem to go straight up. Balanced Rock itself is a little ways up the road. A side trip to Buhl,... More

This was a little tricky to get to but once you are there you can't help but be impressed with the natural rock formation and wonder how it was formed. It's worth the drive over if you like natural wonders.

I go pretty much everyday. The kids love to hike the trail. You can even take your animals. There is a little camp ground park just down the road with more trails and a little creek!!

Balanced Rock and the state park area are a great visit if you want to see some natural formations and hike. It's located off the beaten path and close to the town of Buhl and Twin Falls.
