We live about a block from the Greenbelt and walk it often throughout the year. It is a nice and scenic place to walk and bike, with people also hanging out and fishing in the Boise river. I have seen fox, great blue herons, bald eagles, deer, squirrels, and even a kingfisher by the river. No smoking or drinking is... More

Boise's River Greenbelt runs over 25 miles along the Boise River and covers the entire length of the city. The Greenbelt contains a tree-lined pathway that follows the river through the middle of the city and provides scenic views, wildlife habitat and pedestrian access to many of the city's riverside parks. The Greenbelt also serves as an alternative transportation route... More

This can literally take you from one end of Boise to the other and beyond. Yes it is just a walking path, and at times it is very crowded...but it's just a great way to escape to a thin slice of nature. People are almost always courteous. Of course there are stinkers on foot or bikes from time to time...just... More

If you enjoy an amazing space to get your exercise in I would strongly recommend a long walk on both or either side of this walk.

Except for the occasional speeder on bikes, this is a great place to walk and enjoy outdoors. Fishing, birding playing with dogs. This a great center piece to a great city.

I grew up in Boise, Idaho. I went to school in Arizona and am living in Spain. In both of these places, I look for something similar to the Boise Greenbelt. However, nothing compares to Boise's beautiful Greenbelt. It is the perfect place to take a lazy stroll, a long run, or an intense bike ride. In the fall, the... More

I walk my dog everyday, rain or shine on the greenbelt. I have been in every state except Hawaii, and the Boise greenbelt is one of a kind. I have seen deer, fox, owls, porcupines, minks, raccoons, bald eagles, osprey, beavers, muskrats and many species of ducks. There are a few sections of the greenbelt where bikers are not allowed... The greenbelt stretches for many miles along the Boise River. It's a walking, running, and biking path that shows off Boise's natural environment. Greenbelt travelers will find wonderful parks including a whitewater park, a nature preserve, the Anne Frank Memorial, library, art museum, zoo, rose garden, Boise State University, Discovery Center, golf course, and much more. Wildlife is abundant. It's... More
