Well-preserved fort in a lovely setting with a nice coastal walking/biking path. The park rangers are very friendly and helpful. The fort itself is fascinating for anyone who likes military sites. We most enjoyed walking around the outside to see the canon damage from the Civil War.

If you enjoy history then Fort Pulaski is well worth a visit if you're in the Savannah area. The Fort gives you a good idea of what it was like to live during that time in our nation's history. The South has plenty of great history and this is one piece of the Civil War worth learning about.

This is a don't miss. The fort is well kept and the cannon firings are a great treat for all. I never get enough history.

Great slice of Civil War history. Good place to roam and learn. They also have cannon firing and wonderful guides to help you understand the fort's history.

We love visiting historic areas, and Ft Pulaski does not disappoint. A ranger-led tour of the fort gives the visitor an account of what life was like in a masonry stronghold, and how this location changed the face of how we protected our nation. There's a bookstore with souvenirs and bathrooms available near the visitors center. Make sure to see... More

The visitor's center and the fort itself are well presented with lots of interesting authentic artefacts. We arrived more than an hour before the next guided tour so we went ahead and walked through on our own. The exhibits are thoroughly explained with signs and the background and history are provided by a short film at the visitors centre. I... More

A Ranger gave us a guided tour and we learned numerous intersecting facts about the history of the fort, the way the structure was built and the development of the guns. Very enjoyable.

We arrived at Fort Pulaski around 10 am, because road construction in Savannah got us off track. Since we have a 1 yr National Park pass, we did not have to pay the $5.00 fee to enter. We chose to self-tour and not wait for the guided tour due to our schedule. We climbed to the top of the parapets,... More

We really enjoyed stopping here. There is a nice little visitor’s center with rest rooms, a nice parking area, and is a great place to stretch your legs! The five year old twins were even interested in the displays in the fort and liked walking around and up and down the walls. I really like history so for the cost,... More

If they have the sign up that they are doing cannon shootings, beware!! They are SUPER loud!! One was shot off as we got out of the car and we weren't prepared. The tour guide was great. Make sure to go upstairs but hold onto kids! There is no railing.
