We camped with a group of 9 last weekend and loved it. The campground and the bathhouse were clean. Our site was two sites close together and on the water. Plenty of places to hang a hammock and close to the shorter hiking trail.

If you’re located deeper in southern Georgia, George L. Smith State Park is a great little park for a weekend of kayaking, canoeing or fishing. Cypress and Tupelo trees pave canoe trails and provide a surreal backdrop for a relaxing outdoors excursion. We always rented...More

Very good State Park. Not crowded - away from traffic and crowds. Beautiful cypress lake. Nice campsites, and very nice cabins. Good outfitter. Enjoy.

We arrived just after lunch during the week and were able to get a pull-thru site looking directly out onto the lake. It was peaceful and quiet while we were there. I was wishing I had my kayak to put in on the lake but...More

The lake is full of cypresses, which gives the impression that it goes on forever. There is a mill that goes over a dam, which is a museum. We didn't camp here, but I would definitely be willing to visit again.

Open year-round. South Georgia is much more comfortable to kayak in the Fall and Winter!
