I’m not sure I had even heard of Stone Mtn, let alone it’s craving. Was looking for something to do with 4 teenage girls, that wasn’t very expensive . We were all in Awww. Iit is a must see.

This carving was designed and carving originally began by the person who carved Mt. Rushmore. The carvings takes up 3 acres and is the largest carving in our country. It features Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, all leaders of the confederacy. There...More

Definitely take the Skyride to the top of the mountain . . . unless you want to hike the trail to the top. But DO get to the top. Down below, there is a ropes course, a "geyser" climbing playground - will get wet, and...More

Stone Mountain, like Mount Rushmore, has carvings in the Mountain. They have a laser show most of the year and it is awesome.

Most of what we visit closes early, but the park is open later. The was a great walk-stop-look place. You pay a parking fee to get in. You can get your steps in for sure.

I must see! Spend the day and do everything! The view from the top is breathtaking. Just sit up there a while and just look around. Learned a lot and kids had fun. Laser show was about 45 mins. Take chairs, blankets, and pack a...More

Went to visit Stone Mountain with the sole intention of viewing this carving. We were told the history of the carving and toured the museum, but the carving overall left a lot to be desired. To begin, the carving is EXTREMELY dirty, and it's very...More

This is impressive if for nothing but the size and skills involved in it's making. It's especially cool to see it closer while riding up the mountain in the skylift. They say one finger on the carving is the size of a sofa and the...More

There is more to do here than just do see the mountain carving. There's a museum and train ride and, if you are there at the right time of year, a night laser light show. The skyway ride gives you a better appreciation of the...More

The park entrance fee and parking fee are the same. You pay to enter the park. I believe it is $10ish (maybe less) per vehicle. Once you are inside all attraction fees are separate and extra.

I believe the entire complex is called memorial park and it is free with park admission. The best place to watch is on the big lawn right in front of the carving. Bring a blanket or lawn chair though
