Enjpy the frequent walks on the trial, but remember it's also a bike path...caution advised.

We enjoy walking and biking on this path...due to the length it can be a hour or an all day event... read more

From years of triathlon training to now riding bikes with my six year old, this trail is perfect for the beginner to the serious cyclist. The trail in Georgia is mostly flat and fast. Bathrooms and water fountains conveniently located all along the trail. Good...More

We enjoy walking and biking on this path...due to the length it can be a hour or an all day event. Do be mindful, most follow good trail etiquette, but you will experience fast moving bikers who zip in/out throwing caution to the wind.

Great place to go Bilking and Walking. It covers miles and miles of paved trails. Most of the people on the trail are very kind and make way for small kids and walkers.

My husband and I love to bike on the Silver Comet. I love how wide the trail is so it never feels crowded. It’s beautiful and a great escape from city life!

We generally walk here at least once a week for about 3 miles, starting at the Nickajack Elementary school (Mavell rd) or at the corner of Fountain rd and the E-W Connector. It's paved, so you'd have to watch the bicyclists. Not all of them...More

This trail is great for bike riding. In the summertime, the overgrown trees would provide great shade. It's a level path for the most part and is an easy ride. We had only planned on riding out 5 miles, but before we realized it, we...More

We rode parts of the Silver Comet on Friday, 11/24/17 while visiting family in the area for the Holiday. We first parked at the Powder Springs trailhead (nice facilities) and road east toward Smyrna. Though the trail surface was smooth as glass, it was a...More

I ride on the SCT during the week, so my experience is unlike those limited to weekends. Recently moved to Smyrna, and wasn't looking forward to riding very much on the SCT -- too flat and too crowded. On weekends, the latter is true, but...More

There are several restaurants near the trail periodically. The Dallas, Hiram, and Rockmart, GA, areas have several easily accessible on a bike. Hotels - where it parallels 278 closely you may find them within a mile or two.

As far as the time of year I would say fall, but the trail is shaded with trees along the trail. So, you aren't in a lot of sunlight. If you want to know the best time to go when the really fast bikers are less likely to be... More
