Nice for travelers to find out a lot in short amount of time on early days of our wonderful country. It's sister Lighthouse is a must see. Shop is great too for taking home a few gifts.

The center offers a great insight in the history of the Coast Guard. It also offers a 20-minute educational video. Perfect for families with kids, and you are allowed to climb into the crow's nest which offers stunning ocean views!!!

The Coast Guard Station is a relic from another time. This is a must visit for the value of seeing this historic military post. It is an eye opener as to where the waters edge used to be and where it is now. Go into the Coadt Guard Station and look where the waterline of the sea is today compared... More

Not a lot to see at the Maritime Center. Main attraction was climbing to the top of the watchtower. The lighthouse museum is way better.

We went to Lighthouse and saw the grounds the first day we were on St Simons Island. We purchased tix and were told it was good to Coast Guard Maritime Museum as well (great deal at $12/person!)--we saw Maritime Museum the next day (check with personnel!). We went when it was raining but it not too slippery to climb to... More

I was hoping for more artifacts but all there were was posters giving information. The climb to the outlook was challenging but the view was nice.

The price of admission for the St. Simon Lighthouse is also good for this location. It is a very nice place to visit....won't take long but should do it when you are on St. Simon. Friendly staff to help you.

My favorite part of our visit to this museum were the letters written by a member of the coast guard stationed there during WWII. Did not know a German sub attacked a frigate in the nearby waters! Took about an hour to visit. We then walked down to the beach to check out low tide.
