We enjoyed the movie beforehand in the interesting gift shop where you go to purchase your entrance to the lighthouse and museum. It gave us a good overview of the area and it's rich history. We then climbed the stairs, 132 of them, to the top for fabulous views of Saint Simons and the surrounding area including Brunswick and Jekyll... More

This was a vey nice Museum and the Lighthouse was great. Climbed to the top and enjoyed the view. Now that I have toured 2 lighthouses I don't think I will climb any more steps to view the island. Lots of steps!!! I did enjoy my time at St. Simons and the weather was great. This is a great place... More

Loved visiting the lighthouse. This is a must see. The views are fantastic and the docent is very informative. Loved spending time here and stepping back into time for a brief moment.

the museum is located in the original keeper's house that is attached to the lighthouse. 129 steps take you to the top for a great view. There are 5 landings after 22 steps to give you a rest. The museum is very nice with explanatory material and furnishings from the period. Nicer than many other lighthouses we have visited.

We visited this museum as it opened on a weekday morning. The docent is so informative I would imagine she is a teacher. The history of this island is phenomenal and she knows all the details. The climb to the top of the lighthouse is doable, even for a 68 year old and the views from the top are beautiful.

The Coastal Georgia Historical Society has done an excellent job preserving the 1810 lighthouse making it a must see for visitors to the island. The museum records the history of the lighthouse, its evolution and life on St. Simons.

It is a bit expensive, but the view from the top is beautiful. Lots of stairs to climb. Interesting history. Lighthouses are cool with lots of history and the views are always fabulous. If you enjoy lighthouses, this one is a must do.

Very narrow walk up to the top but worth it. We had small children with us so we didn't get a chance to explore all of the offerings but enjoyed the view from the top!

Enjoyed visiting the museum and lighthouse. 129 steps to top, so not too much for you to climb. Historical info great for kids and adults alike. Right on the water and beautiful view from top of the lighthouse.
