A must see when it St Simons Island. A National Monument well maintained and packed full of Revolutionary History. Beautiful massive grounds to leisurely wander through.

What a surprising great outing! The grounds are beautiful and the interactive demonstrations were fantastic! Especially the the new reproduction of the smithy bellows! Glad we took the time to go!

This is a really interesting walk around - you can look at the ruins of various buildings foundations and the scale of what the fort and town used to be like. The streets are marked the alleys are marked. They've started a garden and a...More

Thank you to Denise, the Park Ranger, who conducted our tour. Her detailed explanation was much more than we ever expected. It was a very in-depth walking tour of the area in/around Fort Frederica.

This is truly off the beaten path, but it is worth it. It is on the north end of St Simons island. There is plenty of parking and a visitors center. There is ~ a 20 minute video that tells the history of the fort...More

Don't skip the informative video before viewing the grounds. The wall that the screen is attached to is made of Tabby - oyster shells, sand and limestone, the building material the settlers used to make their homes here. Take your time but bring bug spray!...More

What a wonderful historical site. So many plaques to read about its history. For me, I could almost feel the presence of those before us. Be sure to walk all of the grounds for a full presentation via the plaques.
