I have seldom enjoyed a museum nor learning experience as I did from Fort Frederica. There are frames of the houses that stood almost 300 years ago, along with records of the people and their occupations that lived there. Ruins from the original fort still...More

Thank you to Denise, the Park Ranger, who conducted our tour. Her detailed explanation was much more than we ever expected. It was a very in-depth walking tour of the area in/around Fort Frederica.

Don't skip the informative video before viewing the grounds. The wall that the screen is attached to is made of Tabby - oyster shells, sand and limestone, the building material the settlers used to make their homes here. Take your time but bring bug spray!...More

What a wonderful historical site. So many plaques to read about its history. For me, I could almost feel the presence of those before us. Be sure to walk all of the grounds for a full presentation via the plaques.
