The Vickery Creek unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreational Area is one of my favorite places to hike at any time of the year. A network of naturally-surfaced trails winds over highlands and periodically descends to Vickery Creek (a.k.a. Big Creek), a tributary of...More

What a great place to spend a whole day. The adjoining trails (Historic Roswell) are well maintained and not too busy for a sunny Saturday. The scenery is first rate too.

Very nice trails from which to choose. Some areas are quite steep, which can be a challenge for someone in poor shape. Unpaved, so it is nice and soft, but can also be wet and muddy at times. Great views when leaves are gone in...More

This is a great hiking trail that is walkable from Roswell Square. The shrubbery can be dense at certain times of year creating a natural barrier from the urban scene. It's a great way to get back to nature without traveling far.

Vickery Creek is one of Roswell Georgia's treasures. There is a beautiful covered bridge, trail, mill ruins and much more. Additionally, there is some 7 miles of trail to hike. This is a must see if you are in the area!

Yes, it's a nice trail, but my daughter and I almost DIED. Evidently, kids come and move the "do not enter" signs, and even move logs blocking the wrong trails.

My wife and I frequently use these trails. They can be accessed from the bridge pictured, from Oxbo Road and also Riverside Road by the Chattahoochee. At the Hooch entry point you do have to pay because this is a Natl. Park lot. The other...More

The trail is quite easy and very beautiful and once you reach the end you arrive at the mill. The waterfall is gorgeous and absolutely worth the trek.

So here are all the details for an afternoon hike to a lunch destination and back. First, if you're parking in the lot off of Riverside Drive (which is the start of this trail walk) you need $3 CASH for a parking permit. When you...More
