A very complete interesting museum of the Mighty Eighth Museum. All local school children should see it at least once.

The museum, café, banquet meeting rooms, bookshop and archives are neat and well organized. There are informed docents who give fabulous tours and really try and let you experience what these heroic men and women did to save our country and the world. They didn't go off to war for a few months.. many were gone for the duration of... More

The Museum is much more than it's name implies. It's a really cool place to visit and you should go at least once. Right off the main Interstate!

This was my first stop in Savannah. I've been to quite a few aviation museums, so I really wanted to check out this one while is Savannah. This really is a museum about the Eighth Air Force and not an aviation museum in the sense that I'm used to. Usually, it's all about the planes. Here, it's all about the... More

I am a retired USAF pilot and support many aviation museums around the world so this is my niche. That said, this is one of the best I have visited. While it is a "museum" with many interesting exhibits, it is more a "memorial" and that is the fascinating part. Walking in the memorial garden I got the same feeling... More

My last visit was several years ago (not the July 2015 stated) but my observations are probably still quite valid. The 8th AF Museum is a nice blend of objects (mostly aircraft), displays and activities. Set aside at least 4 hours to comfortably view the displays and walk the grounds.

Perfect place to spend a rainy morning! This museum is beautifully maintained, with educational, interesting exhibits. There are short documentaries, and a variety of exhibits covering the history of the "Mighty Eighth Air Force" as well as exhibits related to women in the Air Force, the Tuskegee Airmen, and examples and stories of how Allied servicemen who were shot down... Being born in Britain in 1940, I was particularly interested in the Savannah to Britain exhibit. I learnt things I was not aware of having lived in England for 40 years before relocating to the United States. Well worth a visit for historical education both in the U.S. and the U.K.

We didn't plan to visit this place but the Uber driver suggested this museum. When we needed to fill some time, we opted to go to the Mighty Eighth museum. It was a very enjoyable display and I continued to learn more about WWII. I was not familiar with this particular unit and its profound contribution during WWII. With the... More
