This park is owned by Newnan Utilities, but is open to the public and is supported by many local families and businesses. Some standard playground equipment, but also custom made wooden "castles," "school buses," "airplanes," etc. that invite imaginations to be used.

Car Miller park is one of Newnan's best kept secrets. It has 2 splash pads. One for bigger kids and one for the littles. 2 big playgrounds with one designated for children 3 and under. Several pavilions and an ice cream truck that comes through a couple of times on Saturday and Sunday. A great place to enjoy time with the kids. This park is NOT dog friendly...which is really surprising to me. Upper level parking fills up quickly, but plenty of room on the lower level. It just means you have to walk further.

We tried to take our niece and Labrador retriever with us, but were stopped in the parking lot before we even found a spot and told that we would have to leave because we had a dog with us. We had to take a very unhappy and disappointed little girl home who had really looked forward to this outing. It's a lovely park with lots of stuff for the kids to play on. We just wish that some accommodation for could be made for dogs on a leash in a portion of the park.

The splash park is amazing and clean. However, on 3 different occasions I called the police on an older couple who were there taking pictures of kids in their swimsuits. Mind you the couple is there Without children every single time. The older woman followed the kids around on the playground area snapping pictures of their faces and did the same in the fountain area as well. Again, they had no children with them, none of the mothers know them, and neither do our Toddler CHILDREN IN SWIMSUITS.

The first batch of police officers were very nice, but had just missed them, the couple left before the police came. I took pictures of the SUV and called police again.

The second Newnan officer was very nasty and told me there was nothing wrong with adults without children taking pictures of children they did not know in their swimsuits. He was so rude and nasty and told me to leave with my 2 year old before I got in trouble. I was disturbed, shocked, and angry. I left the park with my 2 year old, while the predator couple with no children stayed and continued taking pictures. It happened one more time a few days later. Again, my child and others are playing by the fountains and splash pad, and this older couple without any children are there watching the kids and taking pictures. I called the police again, they were nice but told me the couple taking pictures were creepy, but not violating in laws. I emailed the Mayor of Newnan to notify him of the recurrence and poorly trained and rude police officer. I received an acknowledgement email, but no one ever called or followed up with me regarding my complaints.
This is a very clean splash pad, but I don't feel protected knowing that it is legal for weirdos to take pictures of toddler children in swimsuits and not have the pictures deleted or phone confiscated. It looked like Sex trafficking/ Predator Training 101 and that nasty Newnan police was ok with it. I have never been back since the predators were deemed ok and I was told to leave.

This is a very pretty park with kid friendly play parks and beautiful trails. I'm so disappointed that dogs aren't allowed to enjoy the walking trails. I have to take my dog to Peachtree City to walk him along the trails there. I wish that Newnan had a dog park, a designated walking trail or something. Instead I either drive 14 miles to Peachtree City or 20+ miles to Chattahoochee Bend State Park just to give him a good walk. That is sad. Newnan needs to catch up with the times and make this town a more dog-friendly place to live.

Carl Miller Park is a 14 acre park run by Newnan Utilities. There are numerous covered pavilions with paved walking/jogging paths, a preschool playground for the smaller tikes and a huge 32,000 sq foot wooden castle playground with all kinds of activities including climbing structures, baby swings, older children swings, tire swings, forts, tunnels, playhouses, musical area with xylophones and wooden drums, bridges, wooden airplane and train structure to climb on, and much more.

April through September kids can enjoy the two "splash fountains" that spray water giving the kids a fun way to cool off. (no cut offs allowed) The park has many adult park type swings and benches in shady areas to relax and watch the little ones play as well as grills, picnic tables, plenty of parking and clean bathrooms.

The park security consists of two rather unfriendly senior gentleman who tend to park their golf carts in the shade and chit chat with one another oblivious to the park attendees.

There is no admission fee for the use of the park and the covered pavilions are on a first come first serve usage but can be reserved in advance by Newnan Utilites customers.

*Note that Coweta is not a very dog friendly county and this park is no exception.. no dogs allowed. In fact there are not any parks in Coweta that allow dogs except for Chattahoochee Bend. It's best to take "Spot" to nearby Peachtree City which has several dog friendly parks.

Operating hours vary with the seasons so for park hours and rules be sure to check the website before your visit.

Never have we seen a park so spotless and well cared for. Attendants were cleaning everything. Bathrooms are spotless. Playground areas have age appropriate equipment all in good condition. The wooden castle makes a fun place for kid’s imagination. Really super time.

We stopped here for a picnic lunch and to let the kids run around and play. We were on a road trip heading up I-85. This park was soooo worth the 4 minute drive off the highway. The playgrounds were phenomenal, bathrooms were good and the walking trails were great for a quick stretch! Plenty of picnics tables and benches. Everything was clean and well maintained! Loved this park!
