The hike along the creek and loop back to the visitor's center is over 4 miles, but it is a beautiful hike. It is perhaps just a bit challenging at points, but not difficult. You will see the ruins of the old mill, which was...More

We spent two nights in the yurt village. I think the yurts book quickly and in advance for the weekends, but I was able to book a Monday and Tuesday night in July just a few days in advance, and we had the whole place...More

My family enjoys the hiking trails and the views from the rapids by the mill ruins. Great light exercise that even our pressa canario enjoys.

My family and I stayed in one of Sweetwater Creeks yurts. A yurt is kinda like a trailer and a tent had a baby. The sunrise and sunsets were AMAZING and I gotta say, for being someone who doesn't generally like camping it was pretty...More

Husband took me here for the first time several years ago and we enjoyed it. Took our daughter here and she had a blast. It's super peaceful and extremely beautiful especially in the fall.

Went to the park for a day trip with our 4 and 8 year olds. Hiked the longest trail, about 5 miles. Beautiful hike. Very nice visitor's center. Maps of trails available. Rangers were very helpful. Several spots to have a picnic. Fun day.

This state park west of Atlanta is a true jewel. Boasting a small lake for kayaks and other non-motorized boats, a vast network of hiking trails, and the historic New Manchester mill ruins along Sweetwater Creek, you'll find plenty to do in your day. The...More

In the creek you can swim, but you have to hike to it. The water isn't that clean looking. I wouldn't recommend it.
