If in the area, this is a must see plantation for historical reasons. Half day activity with films, info and walking trails through the whole plantation full of houses, mills and other sites.

Unlike the rare plantations of Gone with the Wind, Jarrell Plantation is the way most farmers lived in nineteenth and twentieth century middle Georgia. You visit the plantation through a self guided tour so you can go at your own pace and use your imagination...More

The Jarrell Plantation was much more typical of a southern plantation than the Gone with the Wind version. My great-great grands had a neighboring plantation to the Jarrells and it was similar in size so we could really get an idea of how they lived....More

A great place to step back in time to learn about our early Ga. folk and how they lived. Vintage homes, barns and tools of the day.

This is an authentic former working plantation. Founded around 1865, and in the family until deeded to the State. Lots of history and knowledgeable staff to explain the founding family. Self guided walking tour. Events throughout the year to demonstrate how chores were done then.
