You can imagine the times where the rich traveled in their own railcar, and were ferried to the island for winter rest and relaxation. Many grand structures still stand. Tours offer interior views. Great to walk around and read the boards with information.

Beautifully maintained historic area. Walking and riding paths, great shops, beautiful landscapes, and live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Bring your camera and go back in time to a slower pace. Enjoy.

Not much to do here except take pictures. It's a perfect spot for a bike ride and they do have some pretty good places to eat but I'd recommend eating at a restaurant that has a view of that excellent beach!

Beautiful place. Nice beaches. Quiet. Relaxing. Can rent beach bikes, but they suck...difficult to handle due to the weird bars on them. Great trails / nice hiking if you want to. The food we ate was not too great. Ate at Wee Pub (fish tacos...More

Explore and take time to read the signs explaining the history. There are some neat shops to check out and it will not take too long at all.

The moment we got out of the car and started walking around, I felt stress leaving me. I stepped into quieter, simpler times. Walk through this beautiful area at your leisure and do not rush. Just enjoy being. Watch people play croquet on the front...More

So much to do in Jekyll's Historic District. We took a trolley ride one day, a bike ride the next and took the Dolphin Tour for a fabulous time! The Turtle Center is phenomenal.

The historic district is a totally different atmosphere than the beach, but still really neat. There's a ton of things to see, and the tour, leaving every hour from the old infirmary building, gives you a great overview of what is there. Many of the...More

The airport choices are JAX or Savannah. They are nearly equidistant from Jekyll. There is a tiny airport in Brunswick, but it requires an expensive plane change. Charleston airport is a little less than 3.5hrs away... More

Walking around and seeing sights, absolutely! They do have some shops, but I'm not sure about lunch. They have some snack shops, but no actual restaurant.
