There are still a lot of pitoresque trees lying on the beach even though hurricane Irma seems to have done a lot of damage to this area. Take your good camera and finde many great spots for wonderful pictures

Up until a few years ago, Driftwood Beach was known as the Northside Picnic Area. That was my favorite picnic area until it was closed due to beach erosion. Living an hour away, I go to Jekyll several times each year, yet, since the picnic...More

This is such a pretty, cool beach with driftwood. It makes such nice photos and it's lovely to walk on for a few minutes. Cost of a daily pass to get onto Jekyll Island and so get to Driftwood Beach is $6.

We enjoyed driving around Jekyll Island and seeing some of the older homes, and we were glad we went to Driftwood Beach as well. Our GPS took us to the very northern tip of Jekyll Island, but Driftwood Beach is actually located before you get...More

Huge trees with their beautiful root systems now exposed... A memorable adult playground of sorts. All ages I believe would enjoy this outing.

One of the greatest hidden gems around. This beach is unlike anything you’ll ever see. Go after dark for star gazing and do not miss the sunrise. Then head back for an afternoon nap. Just spend the whole day there.

It was freezing when we visited but it was fun to explore this unique beach. My kids liked climbing on the driftwood and the stones. It looks like a lot of debris washed up from the hurricane.

Kids and I went on a rainy gloomy day but this is a must-see part of the island. It was a couple getting married there when we were there

This is a beautiful but sad place. The trees are picturesque and a perfect photo op. But they are obviously the result of erosion on this exposed point, so they likely are a temporary attraction.

I apologize for the too long delay in my reply. The beach is on the north end of the island with an east facing....so I was seriously wrong about setting sun. It's rising.

The beach is located on Jekyll island so you firstly need to pay the $6 vehicle entry fee to enter the island. Once you go through the entrance toll, all the attractions/ sites are quite easily signposted. You definitely... More
