We thought it would be an actual visitor center with options of what there is on the island and pricing and where to go, but it is a gift shop with a little nook that had a few brochures. The shop had some very nice things, though.

Stopped in here to get some information before visiting the island. Had a very nice gift shop and clean restrooms. The lady working there told us all about the orbs hidden on the island. They had replicas of the ones you could receive if you find the orb. Around the back is an observation tower with a great view over the marsh. Mr Kingfisher sat close by and gave us a show m

They have an $8 charge every time you go off the island. If you are on the island, you need to pay again if you stop at the information center. The even want you to pay if you don't go off the island? JUST CRAZY.

Stop here before actualy hitting the island. They were very informative about what to see and locations on the island. Nice little gift shop and maps which are helpful. We were interested in birding and general information and they were extremly helpful.

I’m 19 and a student at the college. Women was rude when I came in after I left she called police and told them I was drunk. I wasn’t drunk I was just profiled by the racist employee. Called boss and he didn’t care. Women could have gotten me shot just because she’s racist

Nice little gift shop with items to remember your trip to the island. Stop here on the way out. Too hard to get back into traffic to get onto the island on the way in.

We arrived shortly before they opened (shortened hours), and waiting on the elevated platform near the building...got some great pics of the bridge in the distance. Great assortment of gist and souvenirs inside, and lots of information, too.

This center is located outside of the parking toll area. We arrived on Jekyll Island after 5 pm so we weren't able to stop there before entering the island. We stopped on the way off the island. It has lovely gifts and souvenirs and a terrific staff ready to answer questions.

It is definitely worth it to stop here. They have all kinds of information. Tell them what your are interested in and they can give you suggestions. Jekyll is perfect for nature lovers since most of the island is a state park.

Are pets allowed on the beach for day trips or extended stays?
Are there rentals/hotels that are pet friendly on Jekyll Island?
How many passes and toll parking, etc. do you need and prices? Thanks!

Pets on leases are okay and it appeared that several of the hotels were pet friendly (for example, we noted people with dogs on leases at the Westin). There is a toll of $6 to enter the Island. I don't know if they provides in-and-out privileges each day.
