First I'll mention the assets. There are a lot of waterfront campsites which would allow you to pull a boat right up to your own campsite. The town of Hartwell is very close by, so that can be a big convenience. Now the deficits. The...More

Host made no attempt to regulate the noise at night. Several large groups drank and partied all night along with barking dogs. We weren't able to sleep at all. The bathrooms were beyond filthy. Obviously had not been cleaned in months. The parking was ridiculous....More

Still searching for our favorite spot, one to which we will want to return, time after time. This isn't it. It's not bad... waterfront sites, lots of trees and shade, level spots. Quiet enough during daytime but at night there is a steady stream of...More

It's always fun to camp on Lake Hartwell. Hart State Park has great amenities. You can walk or bike around the park. Our kids ski, kayak or swim. We always have a great time

The park is ideal for swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing on Lake Hartwell - a 50,000 plus acre reservoir. There are many picnic tables, children's playground, campsites, etc. The only disadvantage is a 90 minutes drive from Atlanta, mostly on Interstate 85.

I love state parks and was very happy when my grandparents took me here. Its so pretty and peaceful and would love to go back and hike since I saw so many hiking paths.

The cabins aren't open anymore. Such a waste. Hopefully that will change in very near future.
