The first 5 acres phase of our garden opened May 2, 2015. Located on 168 acres of land donated by Charles and Lessie Smithgall, the Garden is destined to be one of the largest and most diverse woodland gardens in the country. Ground was broken in April 2013 on the first 5 acre phase. The Gainesville location is a new destination for connecting with beauty and the natural world. Complete with a visitor center, outdoor gardens, a model train garden and an amphitheater, it will also be a cultural center for the community hosting exciting exhibitions, events, and educational programs. The nationally recognized collections will expand the horticultural palette of Atlanta Botanical Garden. The Garden has already developed a sophisticated horticultural operation and the largest conservation nursery in the Southeast on the property. Endangered plants will be propagated on the site for the conservation program.

Saw Taj Mahal and Keb Mo in concert there. Great venue for a concert. The grounds were beautiful. We parked at Lakeview Academy and took the shuttle bus to and from the venue. Had no problems with traffic.

I have to admit to not seeing the whole of the facility, but what I did see was very beautiful. I definitely recommend a visit if you are in the Gainesville area

Can't wait for them to open a cafe as it would have been so nice to have lunch there. You can rent their pavilion for events which is a really fabulous space with an outdoor fire overlooking a water feature. They also have stadium seating...More

I felt completely deceived by this garden. It is one thing to be disappointed, it is another to not be told that what you are being sold is not what is advertised. No where on their website, in their building or when collecting my admission...More

As summer transitions to fall the blossoms fade. However, the foliage and the flying flowers (butterflies) are still amazing. You'll love the swish, swirl and hum of the waterfalls and the beehives

This small intimate garden is a satellite sister of the bigger Botanical Garden in Atlanta. There is an amphitheater for concerts and the like. Paved paths meander though the garden. Two miles of hiking forest trails can also be taken. These are more natural areas...More
