I would rate 10 plus stars, but only five allowed. Kathy Marelle has been park director of Bunten Road Park since day one and has been incredible. Kathy has gone above and behind the call of duty and every program at Bunten Road is top notch. She puts in countless hours and is an icon!! I am sorry that Zion had a bad experience, but I KNOW that Kathy Marelle treats EVERYONE with respect and dignity. Bunten Road Park is a wonderful place to go if you are Korean, Indian, or African American, white, black, pink or purple. Just ask the many, many fans of Kathy Marelle!! Thank you, Kathy, for your years of hard work and dedicated. Duluth is a great place to live and raise families because of you and your husband, Coach Joe Marelle. Thank you!!!!!!

Bunten Road Park is a blessing to all of us located in the Duluth and surrounding area. Everyone of all races are treated with respect and dignity. Kathy Marelle does an incredible job with summer camp and all the programs that are initiated inside and outdoors. I read a comment about music being played at the tennis courts. My son and daughter use their air pods to play and listen to any music they want without interfering with others. Technology is incredible. Everyone of all races is welcome!

My wife and I along with our four year old Granddaughter visited Bunten Road Park on Saturday for the first time. There were lots of activities going on. Located at 3180 Bunten Road this community park covers 45 acres. It was a sunny day and our Granddaughter spent over an hour playing with all the other kids on the playground. We had a picnic lunch and afterwards she really enjoyed watching the kid’s playing soccer. We also took a stroll on the loop trail. A fun family outing. Park features:
1-A large Community activity center that has an indoor gym, office space, meeting rooms, and aerobics rooms
2-Paved 1.5 mile multi-use paved loop trail in a forest setting (Dog friendly but must be on a leash)
3-Two youth soccer fields
4-Four youth baseball/softball fields with restrooms, water fountains, and concession stand close by
5-Individual picnic tables in shaded areas by each field
6-Multiple restrooms in the park
7-Four tennis courts
8-Large kid’s playground
This park is safe, very clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking; Open daily;

This is a nice park to visit. The playground area is updated and is a great place to take young kids and hang out with friends for playdates. Our family has been going to this park for many years. The walking trail is great as well as the playing fields. They offer camps during the summer and they are fun for kids looking for something to do while on summer break. You can also rent the pavilion on the playground to host birthday parties or school parties. We have been to several parties here and they were always enjoyable. Great set up for families in the area.

What great facility! A full indoor gym with basketball, volleyball, weight room, group exercise room and community rooms for all kinds of functions for all ages including seniors. A full outdoor park with baseball, batting cages, softball, soccer, tennis courts and a just renovated playground. But wait, there's more, did I mention the paved and soft walking/jogging trails winding around the park and through the woods? All that, and lots of picnic tables and bleachers to watch the kids play.

All facilities are well maintained, clean and safe! Plus there is a quarterly schedule and sign-ups for all the activities, many are free, some have modest cost

Not a good place to go if you’re Korean , Indian, or African American.

Today my Korean coach and I were kicked off the tennis court while playing pickle ball. We were also threatened with a police call because we were playing music.
The court rules state that you are allowed to play music but it can’t be loud. We’re aware of this because we’ve played here before and always make sure we’re aware of the ground rules at any court so we won’t disrespect others or the facility.

Im sure this has a lot to do with my mixed race ( Indian / African American) or with the fact that we were playing Christian music. It’s not a good feeling when you’re just trying to do something you love on your day off and you’re bullied by staff of a facility because of your race.
I reached out to the facility in tears but was told “we’ll check the cameras because this never happens”. I’ve also yet to be contacted by management. It’s 2023. Racism shouldn’t be a problem. Especially is a community where minorities are the majority like the city of Duluth.

Bunten Road Park is off the beaten path in Duluth, GA. The walking trail is challenging enough for whatever exercise activity you prefer: walking, jogging, running, or even just strolling. The kids' playground is clean and colorful, and the little ones have more than enough structures to play on that keep them both active and entertained. There are also a tennis court, as well as baseball and soccer fields for those who are interested. The park also offers a variety of programs, classes, and activies for all age groups.
