My family has had gatherings here since I was a little girl. It's beautiful, peaceful and a wonderful place to have a family picnic or take the kids fishing. There's a covered pavillion with plenty of seating. During the fall, they have the Prater Mill Festival with lots of crafts, food, music, etc.

Our whole family spent the day at Prater's Mill last weekend. The parking was free, children 12 and under are free and adults only $7.00. The food was not ordinary fair food but homemade goodness!! We loved the warm Apple Dumplings with homemade ice cream, fried green tomatoes and catfish platter. There is also an extensive variety of arts and... More

We were here for the festival. Loads of vendors, great fesival/fair foods sausages wrapped in bacon on a stick, turkey legs, chicken on a stick, blooming onions, fried icecream, FRIED PICKLES, catfish, hushpuppies...!!!! Southern Gospel music, blues, cloggers with a nice walk by the creek where you can view the fish. Oh and we had a nice tour of the... More

Just got back and another great event!! Lots of vendors and great food!! Weather was perfect today but some of the vendors were having problems with wind guts blowing over their exhibits.

The area around the Mill is just wonderful, fresh and open. There is much to see and do. Most people like to hike, canoe, picnic, bird watch, and rest. The Prater's Mill country is worth the trip. Wonderful exhibts, vendors, craftsmen and volunteers galore. The fair is held once in May and again in October. Terrific!

A great place to take pictures and go for a walk. The creek that run beside the mill is a great place to fish and have a picnic.

This mill is pretty cool. We took the kids one evening and walked around the area. It's grown up a lot since I was small. Lots of people also go there to have professional pictures made. There are tractors & a train car across the road as well. There is usually a festival once or twice a year there too.
