The number of Ft Benning military men and women around ("yikes" to the good) just enjoying the area is also comforting for visitors as we recently visited the downtown area with our... More

This was a beautiful walk along the raging river with alot of historical buildings to look at. One thing to beware of is that it gets a bit sketchy at night. I found myself getting asked for spare cash every 20 feet after 10pm.

The Columbus Riverwalk on the Chattahoochee River in Columbus, Georgia leads you along the river that saw some of the final shots fired in the American Civil War. Along the walk you see the old cotton mills, the Columbus iron works (which produced metal for the Confederate cause), and beautiful historic homes in the Columbus Historic District. Great place to... More

Great stroll - clean and beautiful view of fishermen and kayaker frolicking in the waves and practicing rolls in the pools. Close to town.

We took a walk here after supper one evening when we were in Columbus. The river was flooding a bit after a very hard rain. The rapids were gorgeous. Nice peaceful area. Everyone was bright and cheery. I don't think I saw anyone without a smile on their face.

Fun time at the river front letting grandchild play and walk near the water front. Its refreshing that there is a nice place to play. My one exception is that there were to many dogs around and to much waste not being taken care of. Especially near the wade pool. I'm afraid that the waste could possible wash into the... More

Great place for a nice walk, run or bike ride. Always lots of friendly people. Some fishing, some exercising, some just enjoying the peaceful river.

The kids had a ball. Lots of good views and something a little different for South Georgia. Some decent restaurants and shopping in the vicinity too.
