Located in the historic district of Brunswick, which is in the beautiful Golden Isles of Georgia. The famous poet Sidney Lanier visited and wrote about this area. "Lover's Oak " is a must see. While visiting the area you must enjoy the areas many other sites!

It looks like any other large live oak. The lovers part I didn't get. Close by is the waterfront, keep going until you find it. There are many interesting thigs there.

There is convenient parking and this is in a nice neighborhood. This beautiful historic oak tree is over 900 years old. A plaque explains the history of the tree and the tree serves as a great backdrop for a selfie. Very easy to get to from the main highway. Stop by, take a photo or two, and give the tree... More

All it takes is a brief stop to take in this site. It's a gigantic Oak in a lovely neighborhood. It is Hugh....can't miss it. There's a sign in front of it that says "Lover's Oak". When we arrived there was another family climbing up the trunk and taking pictures. By the time we found the best place to park... More

This was a rare treat for me. Oak trees don't get nearly as big back home. We had to stop to take a few photos. I'm glad they built the road around it to preserve it.

It is a real touch of history right in the middle of a residential area. You will not believe how big this tree is :)

Very disappointed by the lovers oak. I have seen better in my own yard. Instead of this tree, go to Darien and see the spot where the meeting tree was before it was cut down.

Had to see this tree and grab the geocache hidden inside. I'm 55 but I just had to climb the tree and take a pic.

This tree is situated in the small grass divide in the road. Luckily the road is small and not too busy. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it, but if your near by, worth a gander.

Must see if you are in Brunswick. Beautiful old trees, intertwined, growing in the middle of the street.
