This place is located in Terai region of Nepal with vast variety of birds and wildlife protected by Nepalese Army. Nature is so beautiful that yu will not like to go away from this place forever. Walking for whole day and taking rest at oasis of nature really is great experience for nature lovers. Highly recommended for nature lovers. Worth a visit in Nepal.

Do ask people for directions else you'll get lost.
The place is situated along the eastern embankment of River Kosi.
The place has its office at Kushaa End.
There's a small museum at office.
The museum has real stuffed animals. You can touch the animal skins.
The place has butterflies, a baby elephant, an alligator and many more dead stuffed animals.
The place also keeps alive deer and elephant whom you can touch and feel.
Take a guide and go into the wild. Look out for birds. Do not hit the birds with your car- birds do not know what cars are and they dont fly away when cars approach them. Do not use horn inside the wildlife area.

On our backpacking tour of Nepal,we travelled by taxi from Biratnagar airport (2500 rupees) to Kusaha village,a very rural village of rice farmers, plus an army camp. There is no accommodation in the village, but a few shops and we got some noodles and tea at a stall there.

The people at the park entrance were almost entirely used to package groups, but called up a local guy who is setting up a room in a hut and some tents with beds in!There is an out door toilet and a cold shower - it's sort of camping, really.

They charged 30 us dollars a night for the accommodation, and in total we paid 16500 nepali or about 165 us dollars for a for a boat and a guide plus accommodation. It would have been 280 dollars for food as well.

We saw wild elephants, lots of great birds, big wild buffalo and a small crocodile.

Google them at Imperial Koshi Tappu.

A primeir location in Nepal for bird watching. The Kosi Tapu and the Kosi Barrage in east Nepal provide one of the best places in Nepal to view migratory water fowl, waders and shore birds during the winter months. Many species not recorded elsewhere in the region have been seen here. Thousands of birds congregate here in January and February before they migrate north when the warm weather begins. Kosi Tapu Tented Camp situated on the fringe of the reserve provides the only accommodation to date. Well qualified nature guides take the guests out on walks, jeep drives and boat rides to look for birds and the wild buffalo found only here in Nepal. It is possible to combine this tour with SunKosi Raft Trip or with treks in the eastern hills .
