This is a nice, very small but well-done historical museum. It's just one room really, but it has rotating exhibits. We were there September 16, 2021, and it had the history of Rollins College, which is an old college in town. Wife and I lived in the area in the 1970's, so we thought it might be fun to see. The display of Rollins history was very well-done, with lots of photos, historical signs on the walls, and a bunch of scrap books and yearbooks on period tables. It's really small, so it's free of charge, but they do have a donation box, so help them out if you can. It is right next to the railroad tracks, and I think the building might have been an old train station or something.

This museum is 2 rooms but they pack a punch in their small space! I have seen some amazing exhibits in this place. They are constantly rotating the exhibits so you don’t get bored. The fee is nominal. Go visit today!

I was not sure that it's really s museum or some form of property for events. It's very small, only worth it if you've seen Winter Park and you're already there.

I really expected for a town like Winter Park, which has a lot of resources, to have put a lot more effort into this museum. There is some good historical information inside. It is mostly historical pictures in a very large room, but I feel they could have done much more. Brooksville has a larger historical museum than Winter Park, and Brooksville doesn't have half the money of Winter Park.

The historically museum shares a building used by the Saturday market and is worth taking the time to visit. The themes change and was about the home front in WW 2.

This museum is not a destination in itself, but a nice place to spend half an hour if you are in the area. They currently have an exhibit "The War Years" depicting life in Winter Park from 1941-1945. Rooms are set up as they would look during the era, with nice details, most things are available for you to touch. There is a small area for children to play as well. Great detail is given to Florida's part in the war, things that I did not know.

The museum is quite small and can easily be done in a short time, but there is no admission charge and easily walkable to the downtown area. They are not open every day, so check the website for hours.

This is a small museum, literally it's just one large room with all the exhibits. Despite its size however, it is a treasure trove of history mostly from the 40s chalked full of interesting information on the Second World War, replicas of planes, mannequins of solders, replicas of the kitchen and dining area, and books and magazines from that era. The only downside is that it doesn't really talk much about the history of Winter Park beyond that point in history. Perhaps someone could be generous to provide more space for the museum to grow.

Well worth the visit if you want to see what life in the 40s was like.

Right at the back side of the Farmer's Market in Winter Park, FL is a newly opened (as of May 12, 2016) history museum which features the role Winter Park played in WWII and how society functioned differently during war time. Title: Winter Park: The War Years 19421-1945. Home front life in an American Small Town.
Fascinating exhibits, all collected from local donors it appears. Doesn't take more than about 30 minutes to see/read/experience the museum fully, but what a lot of fun! Many exhibits are hands on. The docent/manager who was present this past Saturday was so pleasant and very helpful in guiding you to the things you really wanted to see. Also -- NO COST to get in! Totally free!

Small museum with rotating exhibits. During our visit, Winter Park trains were highlighted. Coming up soon will be an exhibit on World War II. Friendly and knowledgeable docents.

This small Museum (proper name: "Winter Park History Museum") near the park is worth seeing if you are curious about such things, and is small enough that you an take it in without disrupting your other plans to a great extent. Don't bother if the history of Winter Park is of no interest to you.

We particularly enjoyed the postcard, telephone, and public schools collections. They also distribute a brochure that maps out a walking tour of sites of historical interest in the area. It's an interesting tour and worth doing as much of the walk as possible if you have any interest in the topic.
