We took a nice 4 mile hike along the river. The trail was well maintained, the river was pretty, and we saw some interesting wildlife. One animal we saw up close was an armadillo. He was browsing under some trees right near the trail. Also saw lots of lizards and birds. Nice hike.

State parks are awesome places to camp and have fun. Staying here a week. Lots to do in the surrounding area.

Lovely true old Florida. Many activities to take in the untouched Florida vegetation. You can also bring your own horse and ride inside the park. Wonderful for an outside activity far from phones, noises, cars. Great for family trip, son-father time, friends, couples.

$15 to rent a kayak for half a day which is very cheap compared to other rentals. You do need to take them off the rack and put it on the shore to launch, but it is not very difficult if you have two people there (even one adult and one child can do it). Canoe Outpost down the road... More

This park offers horse trails, canoeing, camping, shelters for a picnic, & few walking trails. It is a smaller state park and quiet. We have enjoyed all. They do have clean bathroom facilities too. You can rent canoes or bring your own. If you bring your own canoe they have changed the canoe launched due to someone slipping & falling... More

We enjoyed visiting and camping at this small state park. It was very nice to be able to rent a canoe right by the river rather than lug ours down to the river...it would have been quite a long walk. It was a very nice river for canoes and we saw tons of turtles and a couple of big alligators.... More

We camped here in December 2016 in our motorhome. The camp host was pretty rude. We came in from visiting family late one evening, and the host was blocking the road while talking to someone in a pickup truck. They didn't appear to want to move to let us by, so my husband turned to go the other way around... More

Hiked the Little Manatee River State Park 6.7 hiking trail which included the primitive camp site trail. Nice walk along the river for 1/2 of the trail and other section is mostly scrub oak. Dry this time of the year.

This Florida State Park offers low crowds, a nice picnic and playground area, modern toilets, horse and hike trails, and a campground. If only the trails were marked! We hiked around 3 miles and decided to leave. Supposedly there is a trail along the river that affords you the viewing of turtles as they eat the local prickly pear cactus.... More

Not really much to do or see here. Many campers bring their horses so must be great for them. Typical Florida scrub environment. There is a short trail as well as a 6-7 miler. Bring your own kayak or canoe for a paddle on the river. There is a rental outpost just outside the park. We called to inquire about... More
