It is a relatively small museum but had interesting mix of art. Docents were knowledgeable. We enjoyed the 2 special exhibits: Larry Kagan's Object/Shadow sculptures and Deborah Butterfield's horse sculptures. They have a small outdoor sculpture garden too.

As an art teacher, I try to visit local museums when visiting new cities. I have always wanted to see the work of Deborah Butterfield and was so excited to be able to see her work up close and personal. The Larry Kagan exhibit was amazing and the docent was very informative as she explained his process. Maine photographer Jeffrey... More

We visited this small art museum one year ago while vacationing in Vero Beach, and returned to the museum this year once again. The museum is attractive, small enough to not overwhelm, and filled with both permanent and special exhibits. The staff and docents are courteous and helpful. The cafe, open during the lunch hours, is a good choice. This... More

And Larry Kagan's interesting and amazing shadow wall sculptures were showing. My stuffy brother enjoyed the space and sculptures and was so influenced that he decided he wanted to explore... More

The museum offer a world class experience in a uncrowded south Florida environment. A must see if visiting the Treasure Coast.

The museum has a "permanent" collection but more significant are the rotating/traveling exhibits. There were a couple that were unique. First, there was the "display" of horses. This art displayed horses using different pieces of material, most all bronzed and then treated to look like pieces of driftwood. And, a couple of other exhibits used pieces of scrap metal formed... The Vero Beach Museum is way more than one would expect for a city of the size of Vero. The permanent collection and the visiting exhibitions are are high quality and vary throughout the year. The sculpture garden is a delight. There is a fun little cafe for lunch. And, if you have time, they have the most amazing DVD... More
