This is a great old theater, before the movie starts they play the old Oregon. You can also take a haunted tour of the theater.

A truly beautiful theater dripping with charm. Went there several times for different events when I lived in Tampa. A must see. They don't build places like that anymore. When visiting the Tampa Bay area make sure you make this gem one of the places to go. You will not be disappointed!

Immerse yourself in the rich, historic beauty of the gorgeous Tampa Theatre. If you have not visited this treasure, truly you have missed out. Travel back to a time when society was not content with the generic and boring - you will not be disappointed.

Tampa Theatre is my favorite place to see old, not so old and new, non-mainstream movies and documentaries, as well as concerts and lectures. It is a non-profit organization. The theater is an historic landmark, built in the 1920s, and saved from demolition in the 1970s. You will be awed by the elaborate architectural detail, and the knowledgeable staff has... More

Tampa Theatre was recommended to us for the architecture and ambiance so we decided to check out a movie here one night. They seem to run older and foreign movies many nights of the week. What a great experience! They have an organist playing onstage before the show and the dramatic lighting is impressive. Great popcorn, too!

Visited the Tampa Theater for a Sierra Club event showing the documentary "Troubled Waters". The crowd was enthusiastic and passionate about their cause to protect the waterways and waters of Florida. However, we went in to experience the theater, and were not disappointed. This is a beautifully restored and maintained 1920's movie palace. The tile work, the sky, the statues... More

Thank you so much for the kind words, Rebecca! Troubled Waters was a great event for us, and I'm thrilled you were here to enjoy it with us. I just wanted to let you know that we do have restroom facilities on all three levels, including accessible/companion restrooms on the main level, just off the auditorium. Like you, we want... More
