A guided tour is worth a wait. Docent provided additional information and I have been there 3 times. Love the map exhibit. The gift shop has treasures for all ages. Best of the restaurant is a must do.

The museum is a nice introduction to the Tampa Bay area. The displays are well done, easy to read for any ages and includes many interactive exhibits for kids and adults. The videos are very informative and kids will enjoy them too. We were sorry we didn't allow more time but we will come back. The museum is on the... More

This museum has excellent exhibits on the history of Tampa, from the Indian days to the present. It is very well done. I loved sitting on the saddles to watch the cowboy exhibit. Learned a lot and next to the riverwalk, very convenient.

When I first went down to Tampa Bat, I didn't think that it would be very interesting at all, since I thought that they didn't have a lot of history. Well, it turns out that they have TONS of history. I was amazed by how much they influenced the growth of the cigar industry and how the Seminole tribe had... More

Spent about 2 hours touring, including the wonderful Clyde Butcher exhibit. Could have spent more time, but naps were calling. Very helpful staff.

On an outdoor elevated patio, adjacent to Tampa's new downtown Riverwalk and attached to the History Center is a delightful dining experience. The Columbia Restaurant has long been an Ybor City/Tampa restaurant landmark. Their new patio dining experience will soon join their well deserved reputation as one of Tampa's "must-do" dining experiences. Friends invited us to join them for a... More

This is the first time I visited the museum. I had been to the Columbia restaurant inside but not the museum. I took my mom and her husband there today because I wanted to see the Clyde Butcher exhibit before it left and I thought it would be a nice afternoon. It was. The exhibits cover two full floors and... More

Through January 8, 2017 there is a temporary exhibit of Clyde Butcher's photography which was the draw to finally get us to visit. I confess that my expectations were quite low, so I was very, very pleasantly surprised to find that what I had anticipated could not have been farther from the truth. This museum is a little gem! So... More
