Do you see yourself looking over the vast Serengeti plains, searching the horizon for a glimpse of a pride of Lions, or a Leopard lounging in the trees? Do you imagine yourself in India, riding an elephant through the high grass with your eyes peeled for the elusive Tiger? Have you ever thought how great it would be to hike through the rainforest, listening to the tropical birds, ever on the lookout for a Leopard or an Ocelot high in the canopy? Have you ever been to the zoo and wanted to be closer to the exotic cats; so close you could almost touch them? You don't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to make these dreams come true. The world's largest accredited big cat rescue facility is right here in Tampa, Florida at Big Cat Rescue.

Our daughter who is into all things concerning the ethical and kind treatment of animals (domestic and wild) brought the family on tour of Big Cat Rescue led by one of her friends. This is not a zoo (there are no performances) but you get...More

I had visited a few years previously and knew when I returned to the area I would have to drop by again. It was hot, and I somehow wasn't expecting to see many cats, but lovely enough - we did! More than the last time...More

This group does such amazing work. To hear the stories of the living situations that many of these animals have come from will break your heart. The facility is clean and the animas that are taken in are very well cared for. It's an excellent...More

What I really like about this place is the work they are doing. This is a rescue for different types of wild cats and they all have their own story on how they got to the rescue. Throughout the tour your guide will share each...More

We went on the Keeper Tour. Unfortunately, on this day, a bad storm moved through so our Tour was cut short- which is a risk we all took when we signed up for an outdoor activity. I am not holding this against them. But I...More

Took the day tour on 6/16/17. It's nice being able to see these magnificent animals up close but I really wish this place didn't exist. I just don't understand the way some people think that these wild animals make great pets or are used for...More

These Big Cats may have a better life than previously, but they still looked, sad, caged, and bored. Maybe with more funding the location could be moved where the animals would have more space that is created more like their natural habitat. I was expecting...More

Big Cat will wow the children and there is plenty of story to go around for this cat farm. Adults may get a little bored, but count on the kids asking to come back.

It's seems to me that you're a bit pushy in your guided tours. What is your policy on someone that literally just wants to stare a bit longer at something special? Do you push them along like a little kid? I've read too many reviews of your pushy staff.

It depends on the tour you take. If you are on the Kids Tour or the Day Tour, you are walking along with up to 21 people and you have 67 acres to cover in 60-90 min. (Kids Tours 60 min) The group has plenty of time to take... More
