This was one place I had to stop at before leaving back home and that was to go up 22nd floor in the Florida Capitol building and observe the views and its free! As you walk in, you must go through security first which was easy and then you can just take the elevator up to the 22nd floor. There... More

Went to see legislature in session. The legislators were in committee meetings. The building was very crowded with tours and everyday traffic!

We toured the 22nd floor which provided great views of the entire city. We had a guide with us who explained what we were viewing in each direction. There were signs depicting major items to view from each direction, so you could do this without a guide. We also got to view both chambers where the representatives meet.

After going through metal detector access to top floor gallery with 360 panoramic views. Neat to see the city and surrounding area. 5th floor where house and Senate galleries located. Not in session while we were there. Also rotunda and offices of Gov., Lt Gov.,Att. General

Do not be fooled by the photo- the New Capitol is that tall building in the background. It looks like an office building. The fancy building in the front is the Historic Capitol. I have visited most of the Capitol buildings in this country and this is my least favorite-and it is my state's Capitol! There is a nice dolphin... More

Parking he suggested was also full. My husband is unable to walk long distances and the metered street parking available was too far for him to... More

Skyline views great! Historically interesting. A great visit in the city. And, of course free...great art also.

This was very interesting because it is so different. We are visiting all the Capitols so were glad to see and hear its origin. The view from the top is the best in the city.

Pretty cool to see the "new" capitol building (brutalist style from the 70's) sitting next to the original buildings from years ago. Go to the top and get great views of the city; you can also see a little bit of state government goings-on. A really nice free diversion.
