Beautiful mansion on the corner with the families original belongings on display. Lewella’s clever poems were so fun to read while appreciating all of the antiques

The Knott House now is part of the state museum system. Tours are offered at 1,2, and 3 several days during the week. Check the schedule. The tour takes about one hour. It provides a nice perspective on early Tallahassee and a family that has...More

There are plenty of interesting and entertaining things to see inside. Just enjoy them. It is especially meaningful if you were a child in the 40's or 50's because many of the everyday objects will be familiar and yet seem so foreign to later generations...More

I was more interested in visiting the house because of George Proctor. A black man who was born free in that era who built the house. He lived in it for a time and had to sell it due to debts. Unfortunately he didn't strike...More

The house itself is an important landmark in Florida history. Stunning architecture. It is furnished to the era of last permanent residents - early Twentieth Century. Disappointing.

I like old style Southern Buildings, This is one of them. The outside is really beautiful, the inside has a lot of artifacts, but not that interesting.

A small museum with some artifacts of history. Interesting the house was occupied after the Civil War. Very close to the Capitol, once occupied by a high ranking State of Florida official. Known as the House That Rhymes due to Mrs. Knott's love of verse....More

Tours are free to the public....The Knott House is an 1840's home decorated in the Victorian era....with 1900's furnishings original to the home when occupied by the Knott family. Very Interesting and the tour director was very knowledgeable.

An interesting old house. The poetry scattered throughout is pretty terrible but kind of an eccentric cool thing to see once.
