My wife and I spent last weekend at Camel Lake and were totally satisfied with this campground. The dirt road leading to this campground gave us misgivings about what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in the National Forrest....More

Hiked here, went on the sink trails. This was very interesting. Huge sink holes throughout the woods. Many informative signs that explain the formations. Make sure to bring your deet.

We stayed 2 nights at site 2. It is a small location, maybe 10 sites total, which means it is peaceful...just the sounds of crickets and frogs in the evening. Craig, one of the camp hosts, was great! Friendly, helpful, and available. Site 2 is...More

With the migrating birds heading north, have a camera and binoculars ready. Trails are well maintained and good for those who prefer hiking on a rather level terrain.

This is the swamp you read about. It is huge ... but if you want to see Florida this is where to go. Great fishing. You can see alligators. Be prepared for the mosquitoes. Better in the fall, winter, and spring.
