Florida has 21 Million people. It's been settled for several millinea, and has been an important part of American history since before we ripped it away from Spain about 200 years ago. All of this history is in the museum. Yet with it's design as...More

This place is great! It is a walkthrough from 14,000 bc to present. It has a short film introduction and then uses artifacts, dioramas, photos, etc. for each era. A group of mid-high school kids came through while we were there and they were loving...More

Excellent museum to showcase Florida's history and settlements, culture and people over thousands of years. Very well displayed and visually appealing. Every Floridian could learn a lot from this museum. We did. Good use of our taxes dollars; free admission.

Make sure you read to see when they'll have special exhibits before you go. Otherwise, it's just about Florida history. It's rather small as museums go, but if you're a native Floridian, you'll really enjoy it.

it all depends on your level of interest in the various exhibits, as others have aptly described. 3-4 hours would be completely adequate, I'd think. that would include time-outs for a snack and some sit down time to relax... More
