Visited for the first time in December. My husband and I were looking for a spiritual experience for his birthday. Decided to visit here since we both have indigenous ancestry in our immediate bloodline. We were happy to see the mounds but disappointed that the...More

This is an excellent place for a picnic, as there are lots of tables available. There is also a covered pavilion and very nice bathrooms - real ones, not portable ones. We like to explore the trails and were delighted to find a new kiosk!...More

This is a beautiful park. we didn’t hike the long trail but we hiked the short one and it is kid friendly and great if you want to just get out and about and get into some nature. It also has nice picnic area and...More

If you are looking for historical text and artifacts, visit the nearby San Luis. This site is undisturbed burial mounds in a peaceful N. FL setting. I wouldn't recommend this as an "attraction" for visitors traveling through Tallahassee, but it is a must visit for...More

Love the site interpretation; cool history and a beautiful peaceful place. Could use more visible staff but understand budget restrictions.

This is not the best place to go to during spring and summer well because of bugs, humidity and heat. The historical significance although nice is barely on display. Clearly the budget for the park is lacking. The signs are also faded from weathering. Great...More

We joined the local bird club for a Saturday walk around the park and then checked out the archaeological mounds and a very nice trail that took us to a former mill site dating back to the 1800's when the property had been a plantation....More

We decided to go here because it was close to where we were staying. It is a picnic area with a history. There are a couple of mounds that you can walk up stairs to get to the top of and there are signs to...More

It's a nice place to visit if you want to get out for a short walk. It would also be a great place to take your dog for a walk or to visit with small children.

A hidden gem, and a truly beautiful state park. Gorgeous trees and a creek that runs by. Not very many people, quiet and calm.
